Tight Match in The Elsham Foursomes Trophy

26th April 2013

The Sudbrook scratch team of 6 were drawn against Belton Park on the Away course, which was the first time we had not had a Home game in Round One of the County Matchplay, The Elsham Foursomes.

First out were Simon Green and Bruce Macfarlane.  Second pair were Alex Clarricoates and Rob Keddie.  Third pair were Martin Corby and Keith Maclachlan.

The result is taken over 54 holes, with each match needing to play to the 18th green.

For the first time again, we halved one match, with Martin and Keith playing the most exciting game, pulling back to halve with Steve Mitchell and Mark Kokocinski.

The end result was a loss of 8 holes down for Sudbrook Moor, after tough games and cold, windy conditions.  Great to see former Sudbrook Moor Juniors playing for Belton Park in Games 1 and 2.

Congratulations, team, the ball striking was excellent and you were a credit to the Club, and looking very smart in your new team shirts.

TUESDAY 7TH MAY   5PM   THE BRAMLEY SCRATCH SINGLES TROPHY, ROUND ONE, AT KIRTON HOLME.   TEAM OF 3, TO BE ANNOUNCED VERY SOON.

2012 There were 3 foursomes matches played off scratch against Burghley Park, who fielded a brilliant team from the depth of their experienced players.
Pete Martin and Keith Maclachlan, Bruce Macfarlane and Simon Green, Martin Corby and Neil Baker aquitted themselves well with one match halved and 2 narrow losses, losing by a narrow margin of 6 down from the total of 54 holes played.
This is our best result in this prestigious competition in our 4 year experience.
