NEWS DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE 2017
The golf course has never looked so good
The Golf Course is playing at its best - congratulations Jimbo Sergeant, on all your effort and expertise.
NEW 4TH / 13TH TEE OPEN FOR PLAY THIS WEEK-END
Saturday 24th June 2017 - Open Invitation Day. Tee reserved from 7.45am to 12.30pm approx. All welcome after then. Please come and try the new tee. Players are requested to take their golf clubs to the right and behind the green, ready to climb up the front of the new tee.
S  ince Tuesday 6th June, there has been a Temporary Tee on the fourth hole, owing to the commencement of the massive project behind the 3rd green and the construction of a new path, and a wider and longer 4th tee. Around 200+ tonnes of soil have been imported, and, on Monday 12th June the 4th tee was completely re-turfed with BIG ROLL turf, grown by Simon Hutton's TILLERS' TURF at his Lincoln site.   For the June Monthly Medal on the 10th June,  the competition was still valid as a qualifier for Handicap purposes by siting the 3 sets of tees over the other 17 holes, at maximum length to cope with the reduction in length of the 4th hole..  Similar provision will be made for any competitions over the next days, until the newly turfed 4th tee is opened.  With BIG ROLL turf, it can usually be IN PLAY within 24 hours - specially grown for QUICK RECOVERY sites, such as football pitches, where play must be back to normal within hours of the job being completed !!!!  May we congratulate Simon Hutton and Jim Segeant, Tim Hutton Proprietor, and all the Team from FINETURF whi have united over the past days to get the job nearly completed.  WATCH OUT for the final tidying up process and the full aesthetics.
We are SO grateful to FINETURF for subsidising this project, which would normally be beyond the means of SUDBROOK MOOR GOLF CLUB.

NEWS DURING THE MONTH OF MAY 2017
Advance notice that the USGA Course Rating Assessment Team will be visiting us from England Golf, on Monday 22nd May 2017. This will require a short 1ST TEE reservation from 10.15am to 11.30am to give the Team clear access to the golf course. Please make a note of this if you are likely to be playing on that morning.
ALL LINCOLNSHIRE GOLF COURSES ARE BEING SYSTEMATICALLY ASSESSED, AND WE ARE THE 1ST !!
AND THIS IS WHAT THEY WROTE TO US A FEW DAYS LATER
"    It was a very pleasant surprise when we arrived and had our first sight of the Club. What a delightful course you have a Sudbrook Moor and with excellent golfing facilities and a great little club house, where we all had an lovely lunch.

You should both feel very proud of yourselves for creating and maintaining such a hidden little gem.

The rating went very well and I shall now pass my report to England Golf and you will hear from them directly, in due course, with your current SS for both the Men and Ladies.   "

NEWS DURING THE MONTH OF MARCH 2017

Incoming “A” Team Captain, Simon Green, officiated at his first very sociable and pleasant event, and with tremendous support, took a squad of 16 for a pre-season practice match to Kirton Holme Golf Club, Boston.  There, they all enjoyed a very competitive Betterball Matchplay format, in Elsham Trophy style, which means that all matches were played to the 18th green regardless of whether the result had been secured out on the course.  With 8 pairs resolving the aggregate match outcome over 144 holes, the final result was an overall victory of “Plus 12” for Simon and Sudbrook Moor.  Results – Martin Corby with John McLaren finished 1 Down, Andy Stones with Andy Newman finished 7 Up, Craig Machin with Jon Machin finished 3 Down, Phil Hall with Martin Greene finished 4 Up, Adam Lee with David Lee finished 3 Down, Nigel Corby with Andrew Green finished 4 Up, Keith Maclachlan with Josh Smith finished 1 Up and Captain Simon Green with Philip Edwards finished 1 Up.
